How to setup Linksys Wireless Range Extender with Ethernet Cable?

A WiFi allow us to connect our personal computers or systems or communication device.Every one want to have a good wireless connection to maximize there internet speed.

Linksys WRT54G series was very popular to support third-party firmware.

Linksys ensure maximum compatibility with your latest gadgets.

Now the question is how to do manual setup for Linksys wireless range extender? or Setup Linksys Range Extender With Ethernet Cable

Before we begin, make sure that you’ve done the following:

1. Keep these information with you.

• Wireless network name (SSID)

• Wireless channel

• Wireless password or security/network key

2. Reset the range extender - Press and hold the Reset button of the range extender for 5 to 10 seconds or until the LED stop blinking.

Step 1:
Connect your computer to the Ethernet port of your range extender using an Ethernet cable.

Step 2:
Plug your range extender to the power outlet. Make sure the LED lights are stable.

Step 3:
Launch an online browser and enter the default IP address "192.168.1.1" in the Address bar and press enter.

Step 4:
The dialog box asking for a username and password will automatically appear.Leave the User Name blank and enter “admin” in the Password field and then, click Log In.

Step 5:
Click on "Wireless" and inside wireless click  "Basic Wireless Settings".

Step 6:
Set the radio button to Manual

Step 7:
Enter your router’s Network Name (SSID).

Step 8:
Select WPA2/WPA Mixed Mode in security section mode.

Note:- Select security setting according to your router,s configuration.

Step 9:
Type your passphrase or WEP key (This is the password to connect your wireless network. It's also called a Wi-Fi Security Key, a WEP Key, or a WPA/WPA2 Passphrase. This is another name for the password on your modem or router.) Hit save setting.

Step 10:
Enter your WEP key In Key 1 and click to save setting.

Note:-  On internet there are several tools available that generates a WEP key random hexadecimal values from a passphrase value entered.

Step 11:
Unplug the range extender and router from power cable and wait for thirty seconds then plug in the range extender and router.

your range extender should now be in synchronized with your router.
