Hello friends i am from information and technology stream. Today i am going to inform you how to reset a linksys router back to factory default?
Note:-
Don't go for physicality.There are many different versions and modules present in market for linksys. Generally speaking the configuration and setup in factory default is going to be same.
Resetting the Linksys router will restore it to its factory default settings.
Reasons why you need to reset?
1. If unable to access internet.
2. Getting slow internet connection.
3. If someone is using your data.

Linksys have two main ways to be reset to factory default:-
1. Hard reset.
2. Soft reset.
1. For hard reset
> Disconnect all the connected devices with the router.
> Unplug the power cord from your router.
> Press and hold the Reset button for 20 to 30 seconds.
> The Power-light should blink while you're holding the button.
> wait for the power light to stop blinking.
> Then plug the power cord back into the router.
> By this your router is successfully reset.
> Open a web browser to test you'r internet connection.
2. For soft reset
Note:- you can configure you router either by wireless device(such as tablet) or wired device(such as a laptop).
For wireless connection
> Look for the new network Name "linksys" in your list of available network.
> After selecting network click on "connect to the network without setting it up"
For wired connection
> Connect the Ethernet cable from the modem to the Internet port of the router.
> Plug in the modem and router to the power source.
> Connect the computer to one of the Ethernet ports of the router.
From next steps instructions are same for wired and wireless device.
> Open up internet browser and type 192.168.1.1
> A window will appear with name Authentication Required.
> It will ask for User name and password
user name = admin
password = admin
The first thing you gonna do is change the default user name and password.This is the password that use just use to login to the router.
> Click on Administration and change your password.
> Click on save setting.
> Once you save it gonna ask you to login again.
The next thing is you need to do is set a wireless password
> Visit wireless security under wireless navigation button.
> In security mode select WPA Personal from drop down button.
> Enter password and it should be of maximum 8 characters.
> Click on save setting.
The next thing you gonne a do is RENAME SSID
> Click on wireless.
> Click "manual" from wireless configuration.
> Type the name what ever you want to keep.
> Save setting.
